BigPicture: Natural World Photography Competition
The Smithsonian Magazine Contest
I was not expecting this honor!
Two, not one, but two photos were selected as finalists in the 2023 Smithsonian Magazine! "Da Feet" is in the Natural World category and "The Fast and the Furriest" is in the The American Experience category in the 21th Annual Photo Contest.
This prestigious contest received more than 30,000 entries from around the world, and mine were among the best. These two photographs were in the final 60 where they will choose the overall winner, the category winners and the people who read the magazine will choose the Reader's Choice. I am so very excited to have my photography showcased by the Smithsonian Magazine.

TOP 25 FINALIST FOR THE people's choice award
London has fallen!! I was very excited that this photo was part of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year #59 People's Choice Award. Twenty five photographs were selected, in addition to the 100 chosen for the main contest, from over 50,000 entries. How cool was it that my photo was one of the ones selected!
This year Knut and I were able to attend the festivities in London. Two days of festivities to celebrate the photgraphers! I was quite nervous to attend this event, to be honest. The museum also merchandised my photo with items to include bookmarks, postcards, magnets and even a stuffed bunny! How cool is that?
Fingers crossed!
Audubon Photography Awards Top 100
I entered the Audubon 2023 contest this year. It was the first time I have entered this contest. Although I do not photograph birds that much I felt the my penguin angel photo was worthy of entry. And it made the Top 100. Pretty impressive!
